so you want to make a strum stick.

Here is how to do it with a cigar box.

step 1

First thing is materials
cigar box
wood
glue
tuning pegs
fret wire
mandolin strings
four claps

step 2

Here are the measurements that you will need for your neck. The wood you will use should be to your liking but it will need to be 30 inches long minimum. All measurements are in inches in this pic. Tuning pegs come in all different sizes so you will have to find were to drill the holes. That being said cigar boxes come in all different sizes so you will need to find out how long the part on the neck that you will glue to the box measurements will be.

Pick a cigar box it is up tp you were you want the neck to be so you will have to play with it abet. And you will need to drill a hole for the sound to come out.

Step 4

After making the neck follow this video for gluing.

Step 5

After gluing, nail three nails in the bottom of the base for your strings to hook to. Now you can put the strings on the strum stick.
